Hi, I hope - no I'm sure - someone can help me with this: I just tried to run AOL Instant Messenger but it seems to have choosen to 'hide' it's "Sign On" window in an off-screen location.
It's normally works perfectly, so I dont know what's going right now. Could someone please tell me how to get it back onto the screen? I need to know immediately, as I live on AIM! (lol )Thanks in advance ,Joe of 4Life ![]() |

Right-click in system tray, exit. Then restart AIM.

Thanks, jharnois, but the reason I posted here is because I am using Linux-AIM and not WIN-AIM.

Then you should post and share your solution. You know, that open source, idea sharing thing.

Yeah, I was working on it
. I have a short memory, but here goes:First, I went into my user folder (e.g. - /home/joe/) and copied the (hidden) ".aim" folder to "aim". Then I uninstalled AIM and reinstalled it. After, that I opened AIM and then closed it. Next, I went into both AIM folders and opened the file "profile". I copied the stuff (everything under "[Recent Users]") from the "profile" that was in the "aim" folder to the one that was in the ".aim" folder. After that, I copied the folder that was titled with my screen name from the "aim" folder to the ".aim" folder. After that everything worked again! The key setting in the "profile" file is "[WindowPos]". I sure hope that that helps someone who has the same problem I did. I took me several tries to get it right! Cheers, Joe of 4Life ![]() |
