apps keep installing on reboot

why such thing? like for example i downloaded and installed yahoo messenger, then extract the rpm and run it and finished the installation.. then after i reboot, it will ask again for the installation again and again. pls.help me to install it just once. thanks in advance

Did you actually verify that it was installed the first time? In other words, did you actually use it and verify it was working before rebooting?

yes, right now, im at GNOME, then when i log out then in to KDE, it ask me to install again and vice versa

Sooo, the problem isn't rebooting, it's using different window managers? If you keep using either KDE or GNOME, does it still ask you to re-install it (i.e. if you log out of KDE, then back in, can you still use it, likewise, if you logout of GNOME then back in, can you still use it)? Did you install it as root?

No, same situation whether u boot or switch window manager. I installed it on root GNOME, then reboot/logout then back in on GNOME or KDE, it still ask to install the apps. what will i do? pls. help, thanks

What do you mean by it asking to re-install the apps? What is the exact message that you recieve?

have u installed yahoo messenger?

that's the apps, yahoo messenger, sort thing like ask u to click on NEXT, ACCEPT, Then NEXT..... like that
