Send a message via AIM to damonbrinkley
Well, the best thing we can do is to not purchase anything from Redmond.

I posted about Palladium before, but it seems to have gotten significantly worse...

Keep ahold of your old hardware friends... it may be your only hope.

but if all goes to the new "Big Brother"'s plan, then computer without Palladium wont be able to talk to computers with it. I hope it doesn't take off

So? We'll start running our own ARM and Sparc servers.... not everyone on the Internet is going to run Palladium enabled architecture, and those that do will likely have so many access problems that they'll sorely regret they did...

I mean, honestly, do you think the bozos in Redmond are really smart enough to pull off something this complicated...

Why should we be scared of Redmond? What are we anyway? How many people do you think there are out there cowering in fear of these clowns in disguise? They have inferior tools and security, they're so big that one end of the company has no clue what the other is doing, and they think that they can do anything at all by throwing money around.

We, on the other hand, CAN become tightly organized very quickly, have far more powerful systems and tools at our disposal, and solve our problems by throwing our brains at them.

Why fear palladium? I say, if they want to lock up all the lusers in one big arena, let them. So what if all the Microjunkies can't access large portions of the web? The core of the web isn't built on those idiots anyway, and all that'll happen is a bunch of pirates and porn-addicts won't be able to move about freely because of their palladium-crippled systems. Besides, NOTHING, especially if it came from Redmond, is unbreakable. If Palladium really does become a serious threat, a strong backlash by the more skilled geeks out there can stop it dead in it's tracks and they'll throw the broken mass of Big Brother's former Public Eye right back at them.

I'm not scared of Microsoft now and I won't be intimidated by them in the future. No company is unstoppable, least of all one that builds its entire business on such Draconian tactics.

Ugh, that makes me sick.

If it happens, I'm going to break in to a Microsoft employee's house, take his wifes skimpy underwear and tell him that I think their innapropiate and must be removed.
