why do it in grub?
edit /etc/inittab and change the default runlevel. or do you need something like a boot-menu where you can choose the runlevel?

I don't always want to boot into runlevel 3,only when I don't need X to start. So it would be handy if I could choose the runlevel before booting (like with the boot floppy).

i take no responsibility if your system does not boot anymore
![]() iirc i read this in "man init" or "man inittab". i could not test it as i still (6 months?!?!) didn´t get a new harddrive for my linux box yet and i recently had to delete my VMs due to lack of HD space. (noone wanted to make a new hard disk for my christmas present ) |
