i ve installed red hat 7.0 in my PC which has conexant modem on it.I downloaded the grivers for it and opened the RPM...It said that it should work, but my kppp could not locate the modem...However when i swithched the flow control thing off, had found something (in modem query window it said "modem ready"),but when i tried to connect it gave the message that it is inicializing, but kept inicilalizing forever with no results....
Does anybody have a idea about the cause of this and a possible solution???? Regards Analyst |

kppp and rp3 DO NOT get along with Conexant chipsets in my experience. I've tried in vain to make it work, but it just won't. Try using wvdial to get a connection. Failing that, do it the hard way using minicom and the pppd manually.
The whole time, remember to check in /var/log/messages (or, if you changed the log file, the comparable log) for details about problems you encounter. |
