eth1 used for my local network. on my local network i used dhcp for our local client. i'm running djbdns, dhcp-server, squid(port 80 redirect to port 3128) and ssh at server. when i connect to my server(eth1) using ssh, i got this messages (/var/log/messages): Could not reverse map address 192.168.1.49. Quote:
It says that there is no reverse DNS entry that maps 192.168.1.49 to a host/domainname. Do you have a DNS server setup? (a local one knowing about your 192.168.1 zone) Quote:
not really. at least no important one. Misconfiguration without further harm. Quote:
Then you are connecting to a machine with an official IP, the official DNS servers out on the internet can do the reverse mapping here. (right? are you using an official IP on that one?)
