Give root password for maintenance (or type Control - D for normal startup):

When I try to login to my RedHat 7.2 I got the aforementioned error. I am not exactly sure what they are looing for here. When I entered the root password I got the prompt:
    (Repair filesystem) 1#

I dabbled with fsck command here a bit, but I was looking for some sound advice. Thanks for the help.

P.S. I do not remember for sure, but I think my Linux image is on /dev/hdb, as my system is dual booted!

I think all you need to do is

    fsck /dev/hdb

but there is probably many options available

I used to get this every so often with linux and windows parted
but once I gave freebsd the MBR never an error?
