    #fdisk -l doesnt shows anything.


    I was trying to run the following command to my Ubuntu Precise <12.04> version but in reply it doenst shows me anything though it seems it takes the command. Does this mean i dont have any volume in my laptop?

    What are you actually trying to display, there is probably a better way of doing so than using fdisk (parted for one).

    The command is actually
    Code:
    sudo fdisk -l
    on Ubuntu. You need the sudo in front. And make sure you're using a lowercase l and not an uppercase I there at the end.

    Also, use sudo. You need to be root, at least on my fedora machine.

    Another thing, fdisk doesn't support GPT partitioning, if you have a GPT disk use gdisk or parted from the command line.
