gdm error when trying to start redhat 8.0
I hate when I get a problem and a google search shows similar problems but no solution!
Anyway, I have a development box running redhat 8.0 and a cron job put the system in an unstable state. I couldn't even get the mouse working, so I was forced to reboot. Upon rebooting, I continually run into the following error:
server authorization directory (daemon/ServAuthDir) is sest to /var/gdm but has the wrong permissions, it should have permissions of 0750. Please correct the permissions or the gdm configuration /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf and restart gdm.
I've tried changing permissions, checking my production redhat install and trying to make sure everything syncs with my dev, nothing works. Has anybody run into a problem like this before? Otherwise, I'll be forced to do a reinstall.
