how to install and run samba ?
how to install and run samba ?

i am using red hat linux 8.0. just got the cds and installed it on another partition on my 20 g hard disk which is shared with my win me.

i've selected the packages for samba (SMB) but how can i allow windows and linux to share files ?

i can see the start services in red hat and i have selected all the samba server and clients

i can't find info on how to use them.

Read the documentation at Samba's Website or check out the man pages for smbd, nmbd, and smb.conf. You might want to checkout the How-To at The Loinux Documentation Project also.

does nfs work the same ?

does nfs do the same or similiar thing as samba ?

For nfs you need a client (in windows), btw I agree on GNUbie's suggestion, do like me, install Goolge Toolbar, it's great!!
