how to know we are being used as a "agent" or "proxy" to pass "packet /info " to the real attacker.
How do we know about this? any preventive measures??? I could think limited to a few ports !

do you really know what you are talking about? then it is some issue i never heard of.
1. agent: do you mean ssh-agent? just configure correctly to avoid man-in-the-middle attacks. 2. proxy: you are running a proxy server that can be accessed anonymously from the web. either setup your proxy or firewall to only allow connections from your local machines. Quote:

SuSE (www.suse.com) made a very nice "Personal Firewall" script that should work with any distribution with minor modifications and can offer you firewall-functionality even though you are connected directly to the net.
(it only works with 2.2 kernel as far as i know...) |
