in upgrading a rh 6.0 to 7.2, can we also upgrading the nic card.....

I have a rh 6.0 with
a. 200 mhz cpu
b. 10 mbs nic -3com
c. 64 m ram- pc -70
d. a working postfix if I have dynamic ip address. ( I do not change IP for three months it is ok).

if I have to upgrade to rh 7.1 or 7.2
a. faster motherboard with 800 mhz cpu.
b. 100 mbs nic -3 com
c. 128 m ram. ( this is not a problem pc -133).


how I just change it?????? that I change with help with from friends, I should be able to fool the system that I upgrading not only the kannel, the motherboard, the nic and rams...etc


Have any try this before???? I want to do this 6 months ago.

Do a backup of whatever you think is worth backing up to some external device. Then replace the hardware and do a fresh install with the newer version...
IMHO it's not worth the trouble trying to upgrade sequentially...

Or why not just buy a new box...
