install SUSE 8.0
Hi all,
I'm interested in installing SUSE 8 on a fresh formated HD. I want to install the standart package and I have 12GB for it. Do you think it is enough? How big is such an installation? I would run Apache + mySQL + PHP on it but it shouldn't "bring" any additional bytes because this is all included in the standart pack isn't it? Thanks, Dekers.

If you install everything from SuSE8.0 I think it's about 6 Gb, so there will be plenty of space left for you to play with... I don't know how much a standard install will take, but since source packages and lots of other unwanted stuff won't be included, I guess it will be less than half the size of a complete install. Apache, PHP and MySQL should be installed with the default package, but you better check it to be sure. Otherways you can always add them later using YAST...
And be sure to use the online update feature with YAST since there's been a few bugs/exploits since it was released. //NoXcuz

Be sure to get Suse profesional, and the standart install is like 1 or 2 Gb,but ofcourse you want to install some additional software. So you have more than enough.
