kernel panic: aiee

when i boot in linux sometimes the message kernel panic: aiee appears. sometime it works and i can boot, but after a while linux will be freezed.
on the same HD i have windowsXP as well. windowsXP is on the first 3GBytes from my HD.
when i want to install linux new, it has kernel panic.
i think must be in the settings of the bios.

can anybody help me? i'm using suse8.0

do u get the error while u are loading the install cd?

i get the error when i load the install cd or when i boot the installed linux Suse 8.0

hrmm, are your RAM sticks all ok? no problems with them? usually when u load from the CD it makes a virtual file system in ur ram. that could be the problem..
