LibXtst - IT DOES EXIST! But Oracle App Server says it doesn't.

Hi People,

I have been struggling with this for hours now, and I'm not sure if I'm even posting this in the right forum. If I'm not please let me know and I will move it!

So <deep breath>

I am trying to install Oracle Application Server on RHEL5. This operating system is installed on SUNs virtual Box.

The installation has completed, and we're into the Configuration Assistant. It's failing on OC4J Instance Configuration Assistant. With the following,

Output generated from configuration assistant "Oracle Net Configuration Assistant":
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/tiaforms/jdk/jre/lib/i386/libawt.so: libXtst.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Now, I've checked the libawt.so and get the following:

ldd libawt.so
linux-gate.so.1 => (0x00897000)
libmlib_image.so => not found
libjvm.so => not found
libXp.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXp.so.6 (0x00681000)
libXt.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXt.so.6 (0x00110000)
libXext.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x00775000)
libXtst.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXtst.so.6 (0x005b7000)
libX11.so.6 => /usr/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x00ea0000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00a49000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x004f4000)
libjava.so => not found
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00168000)
libXau.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXau.so.6 (0x0092f000)
libSM.so.6 => /usr/lib/libSM.so.6 (0x002ac000)
libICE.so.6 => /usr/lib/libICE.so.6 (0x0089d000)
libXdmcp.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.6 (0x002b5000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x003c9000)

I've also check the location of LibXtst in both /usr/lib and /usr/X11R6/lib and get the following respectivly:

[oracle@localhost lib]$ ls -al libXtst*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Jun 27 10:56 libXtst.so.6 -> libXtst.so.6.1.0
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19184 Jul 13 2006 libXtst.so.6.1.0

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Jun 26 15:05 libXtst.so -> libXtst.so.6.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Jun 26 15:05 libXtst.so.6 -> libXtst.so.6.1
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 17204 Feb 26 2008 libXtst.so.6.1

Now, I've removed and reinstalled libXtst using both Yum install from and direct from the install disk rpm -Uvh

So, my question is why is this happening? What have I done wrong? I'm tearing my hair out!

Looking forward to any help possible!

Cheers
Craig
