Linux Network

I am having trouble setting up one server and two workstations. I have Tomcat running on one machine but I am not able to configure the network properly. Does anyone have any ideas?

Also can I ping another workstation if I am using static IPs and not DNS??

>> I am not able to configure the network properly

Saying this is equivalent to it doesn't work, why? which tells nothing.
If you simply don't know where to start, try google. Else, tell us the following in details:
1) What did you do?
2) What did happen?
3) What you expected to happen?

>> can I ping another workstation

Can you try first and tell us what happen?

Yeah, and I am having trouble determining what kind of trouble you have because you haven't said.

One is unrelated to the other.

Static IPs and DNS are not opposites, they're simply different things that you can't compare in this way. Short answer: yes.

Ok sorry. I will head back to the Lab and see what I can figure out. All I knew was that I was unable to ping another workstation. Thought maybe it was the IP's.
