We've aquired an older AS/400. Is there a way to load linux on it?

Thank you for the reply.
I don't know too much about the AS/400 except this one is big. It does not have a CD-ROM. Only input device would be network (ethernet) interface. Any ideas on how to get the necessary files on the machine to load? - JP |

To load Linux on a mainframe, we put the s390 Linux CD in a PC running Linux. Then we shared the /cdrom directory via NFS. When we booted the mainframe using a boot image we had put on a tape, it asked us did we want to load from ftp, NFS, etc. We chose NFS, pointed it towards the /cdrom directory on the PC and from that point on, it was similar to a normal install.
