login problems
I just installed Mandrake 9.1 but it never asked me for the root password or to create a user account. Now, it (the command line) is asking me to login. 1) I don't know why it loads to the command line, 2) I can't login.
Help, please. |

It probably runs command line because your hardware doesn't meet requirements for the graphical interface. It should have still asked for you to create an account. Try reinstalling, and perhaps it'll work this time

mttatkns: I guess you have never installed linux before.
The Mandrake installer should as you to setup the user accounts. It should ask you just before it asks to setup a boot disk and after you have done the timezone and printer setup. |
