Network-problems
Hi!
I've just installed a Suse Linux 8.1 on something supposed to be a server when I manage to make a hole through to the internet... Any good advice of where to get manuals/books/info about setting up internetacces on Linux? Best regards B... |

the SuSE manual. you won´t ever be happy without this one on a SuSE system.
and www.suse.com (www.suse.de if you can read german, this site is in some areas more up-to-date.) and their support database (very good) (iirc sdb.suse.com)

Got it...
I'm almost too embarrassed to admit that I actually paid for my Linux... but I do have the Suse manual :-)
The problem is... -I've never used Linux before so the smallest problem makes everything stop. What I need is a guide to tell me: First yoo put the cable in... -then you turn on the 'puter... -if nothing happens, first look at ... -and so on... In Windows it's all done for you - just plug it in - and you're online (and a lot of others are too......- just got a second Marketing-Messenger-message today). I'm sure this must be trivial to anybody working with this on a daily basis - but I was hoping to get my hands on something easy accessible but still technical enough to cover my needs. Best regards B... |
