Can anyone help me?!!
After being ripped off for the last time by Microsoft for second rate software for my company, I found out about Linux and Open source. I am formerly an IT consultant (Non technical). I work for a company whose IT infrastructure consists of a server running Windows NT4 and all the usual MS office software. We have recently got email, and a decent DSL internet connection. I want to find out as much as I can from experienced professionals and teach myself Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP. I am a non technical person at he moment, I have only just realised the value and potential of Open source software. I am now a 100% convert and want to spend endless days, weeks, months years becoming driving B Gates and co out of business whilst making the most of the tecchnology and passing on to as many people as I can. Has anyone have a downloadable set of Linux self teach notes so I can take a box, and start from scratch. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. My eyes are open, and there is light at the end of the tunnel |

The "Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition" is an incredibly thorough and pretty well-written document that will teach you A HUGE amount about linux.
It is excellent, and you could do MUCH worse than starting there. Otherwise, gooogle is your best friend. http://www.icon.co.za/~psheer/book/index.html.gz or http://rute.sourceforge.net |
