Thumbs up New Linux Convert - I want to find out more

Can anyone help me?!!

After being ripped off for the last time by Microsoft for second rate software for my company, I found out about Linux and Open source. I am formerly an IT consultant (Non technical). I work for a company whose IT infrastructure consists of a server running Windows NT4 and all the usual MS office software. We have recently got email, and a decent DSL internet connection.

I want to find out as much as I can from experienced professionals and teach myself Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP.

I am a non technical person at he moment, I have only just realised the value and potential of Open source software. I am now a 100% convert and want to spend endless days, weeks, months years becoming driving B Gates and co out of business whilst making the most of the tecchnology and passing on to as many people as I can.

Has anyone have a downloadable set of Linux self teach notes so I can take a box, and start from scratch. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. My eyes are open, and there is light at the end of the tunnel

The "Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition" is an incredibly thorough and pretty well-written document that will teach you A HUGE amount about linux.

It is excellent, and you could do MUCH worse than starting there. Otherwise, gooogle is your best friend.
