NFS timeouts?
when using KDE to connect to an NFS server that isn't there, how do you avoid running into the lengthy NFS timeout? Is there a way to set KDE to do this?

this is not a kde but kernel problem:
edit /etc/fstab. where the nfs entries are, add the option "soft" (4th column). if the option "hard" is there, remove it. quote from "man mount": Quote:
- maybe you better make you nfs server stay around ![]()
