nic card and redhat linux (8)
I am new to linux and I am haveing a problem .. I had linux loaded on my sys before and it loaded the right driver for it then but I had to reload linux {I moved a file somewhere it should have not be moved and it would no longer boot} and this time the nic card does not work?? the nic card works with other os-s and I have reloaded linux 3 or 4 times and still no internet access.. I am using a shuttle
sv-25 and ever thing that I can find tells me to use realtek "rtl8135/810x drivers and on setup that is what it picks and shows under the conf file.. any help would be very helpful and thank you for the help!! |

Is it that the card isn't detected, or is it just not loading on boot.
do /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/S10Network start or ifup eth0 It could also be that the module isn't loaded on boot for the nic. try modprobe ne2k-pci or whatever your module is If that loads the driver then you can ifup the interface. then add the module name (w/o modprobe) in your /etc/modules.autoload Or try netconf if it's installed and make sure all the settings are good. and that it's enabled.
