nvidia drivers won't install
Hi, I am a linux newbie so I'll try to explain my problem the best I can.
Using Redhat 9 trying to install NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4363.run driver. Ther error I am encountering is "unable to find kernel headers for the currently running kernel". I tried adding the path: sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4363.run --kernel-include-path /boot/kernel.h but it then gives the error kernel headers not found at /boot/kernel.h I'm so new to linux I don't even know if that is the kernel header file. I'm really just assuming that. Any help would be appreciated thanks. |

Quote:
It's not. The kernel headers live in /usr/src/linux (if you have the glibc-kernheaders package installed).

I got it installed now. I went to the nvidia linux driver forum and extrapolated some helpful tidbits from there.
And yes I was using the wrong path amoung other things. The newest patch from redhat seems to keep the driver from being able to compile. Nvidia seems to be on it though. Even peeps with the drivers installed that installed the new patch seem to be having a time of it. Nvidia's Linux driver Forum |
