I'm trying to install openSSL on me red hat box, but I keep getting a segment fault when I make the file. The ./config works and then when I do make it gets through about 5-6 directories and then an error message saying segment fault please submit a bug report. This has happened more than once. I have zlib, but I dont think that is the problem. I'm running red hat 7.1.

try to install it from rpm first, to justify all dependencies, and then go over source compilation.
also upgrade your gcc with rpms (rpmfind.net) |
