Opera 7

Don't know if any of you have heard of or like Opera web browser for window, but it is now out (for free download) in version 7. Opera web brwoser features tab browsing and automatic ad/popup blocking very awesome. I've not personaly tried out the Opera 7 linux version (I'm going to very soon) but the windows version rocks, and if that's any indication...

Opera 7 download site...

Hey, so does Mozilla! Mozilla isn't on version 7 though.. you don't think Mozilla copied off of Opera, do you?? Could be a conspiracy.

I tried it, the windows version is better. Under Linux it has that stupid behavior of not displaying cellspacing's correctly (one big ugly chunk). After fiddling with the default fonts (the default ones are small AND ugly) it's not that bad. The legendary super speed is all there.

In windows I'd definitely have to go with Opera, but they aren't up to speed in thier linux version for some ODD reason. In linux I use firebird (Mozilla - Phoenix). yay

Actually, the fastests (graphical) browser for GNU/Linux is Epiphany. It uses the Gecko engine (well, actually the engine is patched so that it uses Gtk too), and GNOME for the interface. It integrates well into my desktop and is many times faster than Opera.

I have both a win box and Linux box.

On the win box, before Moz 1.2.x, I liked Opera 5.x best. I didn't care much for 6.

But along came Moz 1.2, and it was love at first sight. My win is still happily married to Moz 1.2

On my Linux (Mandrake 9) I favor Galeon 1.2.x because it's very lean, but I can't wait to try out Firebird (as soon as time permits).
