Question Problem starting X Desktop

OK fists things first... I'm a newbie and I haven't got a clue (So simple English works best)
My problem:
I just installed Redhat Linux 9
When it tries to start X it gives a big error report that basically says there is "no screen found" and it doesnt start so im stuck in the command prompt
First off: When it says there is no screen does it meen it can't find a monitor, a video card, or something differant
Second: How can i fix this, change settings, whatever?

If you need more info just ask

Thanks in advance

Send a message via AIM to Trellph
Edit your /etc/X11/XF86config-4
Set the proper hsync and vsync for your monitor. Also make sure the driver you are using is proper for your video card. And set the resolution you want by removing the additional resolutions and also color depth. You might need to do some online perusing to get your monitors frequencies.

.. Another option is to run /usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config or xsetup ;p and go through the motions there

I've had that error before. In my case, there has been a different cause on separate occassions. Could you post your log as a text file or just here in the forum using the CODE format?
