Problems w/ Red Hat 7.2
Hey what's up. i am installing Red hat Linux 7.2 on one of the machines at work. It is going to be an server hosting internal sites. Now I am having a problem getting a connection using DHCP. Is there something I might be missing?
Also will Red Hat be able to browse shared directories on our Windows 2000 Advanced Server box? Any help would be great. Thanks. |

Given that DHCP usually means that your box will have a dynamic IP, you may want to think about how to give your RedHat box a static one.
It's much easier to configure a client-server setup when the server has a static IP. How you give your RH box a static IP depends on your network topology, so I can't really give you a generic answer. You should be able to see shared directories on your Windows server, look into Samba, which allows linux boxen to communicate with windows servers and vice-versa. |
