Guys,
I have a question thats been bugging me. I developed a demonstration website for showing to clients. This is really superfluose information cos it happens with all websites ![]() When viewing say www.google.com in IE all the fonts are sharp and crisp and it looks lovely. When Im using my Linux Box the fonts look all jaggedy and crap. I will be using a linux laptop to demo my site, and wondered if theres anything I can do to make the text look like it should do??

You just need to use anti aliased fonts. How you set them up depends on your distro and what version of X and KDE/Gnome you're using. Could also vary depending on browser. Easiest way out is probably to go to your distro's homepage and view a faq/howto on setting up anti aliasing with true type fonts.

I had this problem too,its because you dont have the right fonts installed (like verdana) so the browser choose the next font in the list or the default font.Theres a good tutorial here, which fixed my problem with the ugly fonts:
http://www.buberel.org/linux/ms-fonts.php Or if you want anitaliased fonts, check this: http://www.linuxvoodoo.com/howto/HO...er-HOWTO-7.html / http://linux-sxs.org/xfree_4_x_ttf_aa.html Kde also has a fonts configuration app which has a option to enable anti aliasing for fonts (you can find it somewhere in yuor K menu). As for your browser, once you've got anti-aliased fonts installed, use Konqueror if in KDE, Galeon if in GNOME, or Mozilla (you'll need the latest version, 1.1, from mozilla.org) if otherwise, and in Mozilla go to Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Fonts and select some TTF anti-aliased fonts from the list
