Red Hat 9 ISOs
If you aren't a subscriber (like me), you can still get Red Hat 9 ISOs now at:
http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/rh9.html You'll need Bittorent to D/L the files, but it's only 3 cds this time. Think of it this way: if you have a slow connection, this d/l will be done by the time the ISOs are officially released to the public. Isn't the GNU great? |

What are you talking about? I'm not a member and I downloaded all 3 Red Hat 9 CD's from their FTP two weeks ago.

No, these ISOs are the current release version. That FTP has the beta version.
And Bittorrent is definately not crap. The more people that use it, the faster it goes. You are just too lazy to compile the code, obviously. |

Bittorrent is awesome. I get a constant 1.5 mbps on my ADSL, the theoretical max for my account.

Please note that the Red Hat ftp requires a name and password, and thus spending money.
Please also note that Bittorrent is free, faster than FTP transfers, and the files are available without paying Red Hat or waiting until it is officially released to the public and mirrored to other servers. |

But on a different note, those files are up, no questions asked. Currently the fastest way to get them without breaking implicit open-source user rules (beat the dirty Capitalist pigs!). Only problem is that currently, you need a Windows machine to actually make the Torrent. Once it's made, Linux can handle everything else. Just need the torrent, the files, and a tracker. |

Or, if you like the system.. you could just *gasp* buy the damn CDs
Seriously... try for free but buy to keep.... (on a personal note, I'm buying the latest FreeBSD release... I wouldn't pay for Red Hat Linux considering my current usage patterns, but that's a pointless debate best left to another thread ). |
