red hat install
I'm using a 3 cd set of red hat 7.1 from a book...all is fine until the download of gnome package...it halts at aspell...it can't find it...
there's no prompt for any other cds......just, "WE can't find it" Well guess what...I found it on the cd with a simple file search... ...reboot...reboot...reboot....Linux's stability is making me very unstable.... Any Suggestions????? Kevin |

Mandrake 8.1 ;-), my installation (default settings) was really a breeze, much easier than windows reinstall for others, and is RH compatible.
As a home pc, Linux is (IMHO) not more stable than windows! I mean that it never crashed completely ("blue screen of death") but applications do crash! Hope this helps

Mandrake...Hmmmm....At this point it's a matter of principal..It's 7.1 or bust...
Still having trouble installing .... Copied cd to hard drive..burned it and ..can't find the files.... HCL all checks out...Partitions perfect... one more try and then back to windoze... |
