Remote login via ssh to ltsp

I've put together a small (40 pc) LTSP network and would like to be able to enable remote login as a client.

So far, I am able to login remotely as an LTSP user but without a GUI (i.e. am only on the command line).

How can I either
1) launch a GUI from the CL once I am logged in as a user

or

2) login to the LTSP GUI login as a local user does
