    why this rule ( IPCHAINS ) is error???

    man ipchains and set up some rules for testing according to text.

    #!/bin/sh

    clear
    /sbin/ipchains -L
    /sbin/ipchains -F
    /sbin/ipchains -P forward REJECT

    ...
    ...
    ....

    MY_IP = "192.168.1.199"

    EXT="eth0"

    /sbin/ipchains -A input -i eth0 -p tcp -d $MY_IP 80 -j DENY -l

    /sbin/ipchains -A input -p tcp -s 0/0 -d eth0 23 -j ACCEPT # accept any IP to port 23

    /sbin/ipchains -A input -p tcp -s 0/0 -d $EXT 23 -j DENY # deny any IP to port 23
    error msg: ry `/sbin/ipchains -h' or '/sbin/ipchains --help' for more information and I do this according to text for experiment.

    you probably didnīt.
    1. ipchains -F needs to know the chain to be flushed.

    2. half of your message somehow got lost i cannot really understand what you did and what the error message was...

    3. maybe you are using 2.4 kernel and not loading the ipchains module? (just a guess...)
