Samba

Hi everyone,

I have samba configd on my redhat 7.2 ok. it sees my shares. my workgroup=MYGROUP is seen by the windows machines but when I try to connect it says the computer cannot recieve the connection.

can someone point me in the right direction to figure out the problem?

hi

i'm not sure that i understand what kind of problem you experience but it looks like you have to add the usernames of the windows users to the smbpasswd file.

smbpasswd -a john <enter>

when running windows, users have to be logged in as "john"

Indeed that turned out to be the problem... Somethimg our "ALLLKNOWING" techsupport guy forgat to mention.
