Scaling of a X software.

I have a X software, that will only run in 640x480.
Now I have a X screen (virtual) at 320x240.

This result in the X software been "cropped" so only a 1/4th of the software is visible.

I would want to launch the software in some type of wrapper that will scale (shrink) the software with 50 %. Does anybody know such a wrapper.
