Screen is moved ±20 pixels to the right...
My screen is moved to the right by ±20 pixels so that theres a empty vertical bar at the left site,i.e. the screen starts at (20,0).This is really annoying because when I maximize a window the [X] (close) button is outside the screen and I cant click it.Also a part of the clock in the corner is outside the screen.I didnt have this problem with Suse, because during installation it let me load the windows drivers for my TFT monitor, but Red Hat detected my monitor so I accepted it.I have no idea what could be causing this, nor how to fix it.I only know that it is very annoying...
Does anybody know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance. |

seems like redhat as an error in its monitor database.
this effect comes from wrong synch. probably not really wrong since today all monitors should be multi-sync, i.e. they can run any frequency in a given intervall. but most monitors have an "ideal" frequency-pair. that is when the picture is in the middle for the factory pre-set monitor settings. three ways to solve this problem: - use another resolution, maybe only your chosen one is wrong. - adjust your monitor settings on the monitor (but then when you reboot to windows, you might have to do it again )- correct the wrong "modelines". are you using XFree4 or 3.3? afaik suse came with an extra tool to convert windows .inf-files to modelines, try to get it, it will save you a lot of work...
