Security Level
Ok, im trying to take my security level down. Its on high right now, and i dont really want the firewall on at all. Ive made sure iptables are on.
/sbin/service iptables restart and ive used the security level program, which does absolutely nothing. I set it to no firewall, close out, then restart the security level program, only to find its back at 'high'. please help. this is annoying. |

What distribution is this? (Some of them put their own little home-brewed security level scripts in there, but they are all different)
<soapbox> Rather than using their own scripts to do this sort of thing, they should create a unified app that does this all with the same user interface across distributions but changes different things according to what distribution you are using. But since this is one of the value-added options many distributions offer, I doubt this will happen. </soapbox> |

I knew it...
I never did figure out how to actually make that damn thing's changes STICK. Ultimately, I just uninstalled the piece of junk and never worried about it again. |
