Hello,
On Legacy Linux 7.2, I have used this command to generate an ssh-2 key: ssh-keygen -b 1024 -t rsa I need to know: Does this key have an expiration date? How can I display the expiration date if it has one? Thank you! |

No, as far as I know.
Expiration date is included in certificates though. |

Hi zby,
Thank you for the reply. Last year one of our customers said our key is expiring, and requested a new key. That made me update our rsa authentication key for all our customers. It is now one year since that replacement key was distributed. I am anticipating having to replace it again. So far, no one has requested a replacement. No one is claiming it is about to expire. That is fine, except I would not like it to expire, say, in July instead of May. At that point I am likely to be away on vacation, and there will be no one available at my shop to respond. Until I return. To the developers of ssh-2: please add support to display key expiration dates. If none, say so in the RFC. Fountain_spray ![]() |
