sshd down, no console access, need ideas
Basically I upgraded to ssh2, and then restarted the daemon, and was kicked out, and now I cant ssh in. I have no console access, because its colocated.
I have root access via ftp (I cant believe I had it set up like that, but it my save my a$$) I have the ability to execute shell commands by uploading custom cgi scripts, so the euid is www. Any idea how I can get a remote shell using these methods? Ive tried isuing the reboot command via cgi, but it asks if im sure if i want to reboot, and I cant figure out how to get my shell script to say yes. Tried restarting sshd via cgi, also edited my httpd.conf file so the next time it restarts it is uid 0 (bad idea, i know, but its an option) but I cant get apachectl to work with a uid of www. Thanks =) how do i get my self into these messes?????? |

With perl, you can use the Expect module,
http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/CPAN/d...ect/Expect.html From the docs: Quote:
As far as running a CGI as root, you're gonna have to figure that out on your own. |

Call your host and get them to reboot it. Most colo hosts don't charge for reboots.
