What do you mean with "go to the kernel"?Do you mean compiling the kernel or browsing the source code?

A kernel is just a part of a OS,its already started when the OS starts. What would you like to do with it?Under Linux you can compile it,with your own configuration.

I think I understand why you chose 'Master of Weirdness' as your status ...

Anyway, search Google for Linux kernel howto, and start reading...

I don't get it... Could you like, uhm, rephrase the question?
What do you mean by 'get to the kernel'?
What do you want to do with it?

You need to configure your kernel to enable IPX support, and then compile it. Follow the tutorials in the page above to find out how.
