    Question Does Suse suppor RPM's ?


    I am a new user having worked on Red Hat Linux for my apprentice into to Linux.

    Nowseriously thnking about changing to Suse for DB2 work (sinec Suse includes DB2) in its set.

    Wanted to knwo if Suse supports RPM style packages or weteher it still supports Debian syle packages.

    SuSE is based on RPM. It works just like in Redhat or any other dist, sort of
    rpm -ihv --force --nodeps yourpackage.rpm
    (Setup does that automatically, of course.)
    I haven't ever used Debian packages, but I faintly remember something for them in SuSE's package selection.
