Telnet and termianl Emulation
When I telnet to my linux box from Win2K everything is great, Vi works wonderfully, I can use arrows and it is color coded
![]() When I do it from 98SE or NT4 or basically anything other than 2000, my arrows don't work in VI and it is not color coded. Is there some envrinoment variable I can set so it will work normally? I am more concerned about arrows than colors. I just want to be able to navigate normally using VI. I type echo $TERM at the bash prompt and I see something like ANSI. That doesn't tell me much. Thanks, MIKE |

What app are you using on the Win boxes? Standard telnet client, from the cmd, or some other app?
Try secureCRT, Putty or any other SSH/telnet client, and I think you will get what you want... //NoXcuz

I use the standard Telnet app in the windows machines. I can't always ssh in because I work in labs.

Give this one a shot then. A single executable without installers etc. I think it's around 200kB. Runs great... http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~...y/download.html
