no special software. just some kernel configuration (ipchains / iptables; "masquerading") and correct setup of mgetty and the ppp daemon for dial-in.

I can call out for PPP in x-win.it also can receive dail-in too.

But I wish to know about "tiny ISP" on one serial port,

any body know about "tiny ISP" so I can dail in win98/linux rh to my home based and let the 98 SE surf via my dsl.

any ideas, stress more, please!!

I have some test to-day. ( dial in from a remote office to my modem awaiting )

at 98 se a window prompt to enter my_name and login_password.

I then change root id, execute /usr/sbin/pppd then F7, open IE in wind 98 SE, I still can't surg the internet.
I discovered /usr/sbin/pppd in non-root id, it said "must be root to run /usr/sbin/pppd/ since it is not setuid-root.
I think of change chown and chgrp to myself. It still have the same error.

any one would help?
