Uninstallation of LILO
I need to uninstall LILO boot loader.
Ive got my system booting into LILO and it gives me the option of booting up Linux, NT (which is win2K and XP). The thing is ive just brought a new 128M graphics card and linux hates it. I cant boot into linux but can still use the bootloader. Can anyone tell me how to get back to a dos boot. ![]()

The LILO manpage tells you how to remove it (or.. maybe it's the lilo.conf manpage - one or the other... on WinNT right now.. can't check). I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find with google as well... In the unlikely event that fails, use a Windows Boot Disk and when you get to the prompt run 'fdisk /mbr' on the HDD to restore a Windows MBR on your hard disk.
Incidentally, you use lilo -u MOUNT where MOUNT is the drive you want LILO off of (e.g. /dev/hda1) Last edited by Ctb : October 9th, 2002 at 03:26 PM. |
