Upgrading SuSE versions
So I've runned SuSE for a few years, but haven't upgraded any version of it yet. Sure, I've upgraded parts of it, recompiled new kernels etc, but no full system upgrade.
Each time I wanted a new verson I simply wiped the discs (after doing a backup, of course ) and installed the new version. But I though I'd do an upgrade (7.3->8.0), and now I wonder what experience anybody has when it comes to upgrading SuSE versions. Is it stable, is it reliable to do an upgrade, general problems etc.
Like upgrading FreeBSD is pretty reliable, and Windows is not. At least in my experience...
And there's no point in spending a few hours trying to upgrade just to find out that I need to do a clean install just to get it stable...
Btw, it'll be a ftp install if that matters...
