What is your fs browser?

Even though i'm an 'anti-ms' and hence, 'anti-kde' I use konqueror to browse and well open files! Since i'm a WindowMaker zealot I tried FSViewer.app but I didn't liked it.

So, what do you use?

I don't see KDE is the same as MS...

I use Konqueror when I am running KDE,and the Gnome filemanager when I am running Gnome.I also just use a terminal sometimes for moving, copying and deleting files.

Well Kde used to look *a lot* like windows back then. Now it's a bit more classy but it reminds me of xp.

And I always have a term (Eterm = great!) open for the average copying, mounting, etc since i'm used to drag n' drop rather than copy/paste (yuk) files.

I'll try Endeavor Mark when i'll be back with Gentoo.

You're against the look of Windows? Blimey, I'm just anti- their abusive business practices, sub-quality software and encouragement of underqualified persons using their systems, but maybe I should be anti-their theme too

Anyways, I use whatever shell I have available at the time (pure bash, konsole, xterm) for most stuff like moving things around, looking for files etc. and when I want to do more classy things like view the contents of tarballs without untarring them, or get a clearer idea of the contents of a directory, quickly view stats etc, I use konqueror.

I know what you mean. But when i'm using one interface it's either keyboard or mouse only, I hate the switching. I use both when I play ut that's all!

FYI, you could set up mc to automagically enter the tarball, view files and all, Slack4 did that back then.

Ugh yes perhaps, but I detest mc It just gets in the way of the division in my brain between gui and shell
