where to get cc ? and what to do if RH7.1
i just got a server that has a broken cc, so i am unable to compile anything properly as most things require a cc.
does anyone know where i could get the c compiler from? and how i can replace it? also i am running redhat 7.1 on this system (it was a presetup system so i had little to do with the choice), but i want to let it use all the 7.3 features. does anyone know where i could get the updates from and how? i tried searching redhat.com but there doesnt seem to be a proper repository of rpms where i can download rpms from. also redhat doesnt seem to have a vim or anything which makes it much harder to edit files :-( anyone knows what i could do? |

the downloads page is only one click away from the main page (see in the upper right corner, there is a BIG download button).
and even though i am a suse/freebsd user, i doubt that redhat has no vim... you just did not install it. try: ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/ for the complete distributions, updates etc. ... i just entered "vim" into the search box on redhat.com. they do have it.
