wireless security suggestions
I'm thinking of buying a wireless ap, and I'm getting lost in the protocol itself, rather than finding suggestions on how to make it secure.
I would be using: cable -> RH 7.3 gw/firewall -> wireless router -> systems Now off the top of my head, I would make iptables allow only incoming and outgoing access to 2 or 3 ips which I would have manually configured on my hosts (with firewalls running on each host). Would that not be enough? Not being of hacker mentality, I don't understand how anyone could do damage if they drive by with a laptop, and since I wouldn't be running dhcp, how would they gain access to my lan without an ip? |
