    totally defenseless -iptables1.25

I have used a portscanner to scn myself both locally and via internet with and without iptables.

it killed my connection with zoneedit.com and it may be flooded the router.

What am I saying... ? AND I do not know what happened???

ICMP is ok. portscan is a killer.

    why???
    regards,

wish to use AT 89c51 single chip computer to do remote sensing and send the data back from woods to office via nokie 3330 and internet. HOW?
first I must revise C program thro' example, what's next?

you killed your machine starting a portscan on localhost???

if it only was over the network, then you might have been blocked for some minutes because of the scan by your provider

flooding a router is possible... this could not happen on localhost though since data to / from localhost never passes any routers.

concerning iptables: what setup did you do? and which kernel version?
