Hi all, i've got a few beginner questions:

    1) i use a LAN and i cant see the others, how come?
    2)how can i fix it?
3)i cant play songs with the mp3-player thats given with my linux.
4)When i try a game thats already installed it keeps doing nothing! How can i prevent this?
5)what is the easiest way to get internet in linux from my LAN's server (uses windows)?

    1.) They're sleeping...
2.) You want to set up samba.
3.) Does your sound work at all? Does your Linux dist know how to handle mp3-files? What mp3-player?
4.) What game? What do you mean?
5.) Huh? Do you mean that you want to use your LAN server as gateway or what?

Sorry to be so negative, but you don't provide enough information to suggest anything...

3.) Adjust the volume in KMix.
4.) Update your geforce drivers.Suse doesnt come with nvdia card drivers, you must download and install them yourself.

    1) what do you mean you can't "see" them? Can you ping them? Does 'ifconfig' show anything besides the 'lo' interface? If you have no idea what i'm talking about read this first:
    http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Net-HOWTO/index.html
    2) See #1
    3) download xmms. you will never want or need to use another mp3 player again (IMHO )
    4) Which game?
    5) Which version of windows is your "LAN server" running? The 'easiest' way to get to the internet (again, my opinion) is to set up your linux box as the Lan server and use it as a gateway/router for your windows box.
