All mac mini s work with remote ?

Im thinking about getting a mac mini off ebay with the intention of using as a home media pc to play movies and mp3's. I notice some are being sold without remote controls. Do all mac minis have IR reciever components that let them work wit remotes ? Is it all I have to do is get a remote to work with the mini ?

No, that's actually not right. The early Mini's didn't have the remotes or the sensors for them.

I'm not 100% sure of where they started having them built in, but I've got a feeling it was when they introduced the Intel-based models. If I'm right (don't quote me...) anything that's a G4 Mini won't have a remote, but all of the Intel ones will.

Have a look at www.everymac.com and search around the Mini's and you should be able to find out what you're after there.

I believe the remote was introduced when G5 computers came out. (at least for imacs). Like Catacaustic I am only making an educated guess.
